Atkore Flood Recovery Video – The Pendleton Flood Lightbox Filmworks | Video Production Portland

Atkore, The Pendleton Flood

Disruption and recovery shape this Atkore flood recovery video, which documents the historic flood that struck the company’s PVC pipe manufacturing plant in Pendleton, Oregon, in February of 2020. At the time, the once-in-a-lifetime event led to evacuations, highway closures, and emergency declarations. Ultimately, the facility was left completely underwater.

Rather than focusing only on damage, the film follows what came next. One year later, the Pendleton plant was back in production. In partnership with Atkore, the project captures the recovery process while marking the facility’s reopening and the essential products manufactured there.

Documenting Recovery at an Industrial Scale

From there, the story unfolds through firsthand accounts and on-site footage. Employees, contractors, and partners describe the work required to restore operations and rebuild under extreme conditions. Throughout, the pacing remains steady and factual, allowing the scale of the effort to speak for itself.

In turn, resilience becomes the throughline. The focus stays on preparation, coordination, and persistence instead of spectacle. As a result, the documentary offers a clear view of how large-scale manufacturing responds to disruption and moves forward under pressure.

A Documentary Approach to Industrial Storytelling

From a production standpoint, our team led the project end to end. During pre-production, we conducted interviews to identify key voices and shape the story. We then handled scripting, shot planning, scheduling, location coordination, and interview preparation.

Production took place over three days. Two days were spent on location at the Pendleton facility. An additional day was spent in Portland, Oregon, interviewing a local contractor. Full lighting, sound, and cinematography ensured clarity across locations. In post-production, the process included picture and sound editing, color correction, music licensing, two rounds of revisions, and final delivery.

Ultimately, this Atkore flood recovery video serves as both a record of response and a reflection of operational resilience. It shows how people, planning, and infrastructure came together to restore critical manufacturing when it mattered most.

This project is part of our broader Industrial & Manufacturing Video Production work and our ongoing collaborations with teams operating at the backbone of modern infrastructure.
