David Gomberg for State Representative
This David Gomberg campaign video was created for his 2022 re-election effort. The goal was to tell a story rooted in care, responsibility, and what it means to show up for your community. Working alongside a local agency, Lightbox Filmworks partnered to bring that vision to life through production and post-production.
Rather than focusing on policy alone, the film centers on lived experience. It follows HelenFey and Danelle, a couple who lost their home in a devastating fire.
Showing Up Beyond the Crisis
While David Gomberg’s own home was still standing, many of his neighbors were not. To reflect that reality honestly, the film incorporates archival footage to acknowledge the scale of the destruction. At the same time, the present-day story follows HelenFey and Danelle as they rebuild their lives together.
Filmed on location on the Oregon coast, the piece weaves past and present. In doing so, it highlights both loss and resilience without lingering on tragedy.
Leadership Grounded in Care
Instead of centering the story on a single moment, the film focuses on continuity. Through real conversations and quiet, lived-in moments, it reflects David Gomberg’s belief that leadership means standing with people long after the headlines fade.
Lightbox Filmworks handled all filming and post-production, shaping the footage into a warm, empathetic campaign piece. Ultimately, the final video speaks to a commitment to community safety, resilience, and care — because when neighbors need help, showing up is the work.
This project is part of our broader Public Interest & Civic Impact work focused on trust, accountability, and human-centered civic storytelling.
