Tina Kotek, Won’t Go Back
This Tina Kotek campaign video was created during the 2022 Oregon gubernatorial race to bring the “Won’t Go Back” message to life. Working in partnership with a local agency, Lightbox Filmworks supported on-location production and post-production for a series of messaging-forward campaign spots.
From the outset, the flagship piece used a deliberate and minimal visual approach. Set against a clean white backdrop, a group of women take turns delivering the same unified script directly to camera. As a result, the focus stays on real voices and shared urgency instead of visual distraction.
Centering Women’s Voices
By stripping the spot down to its essentials, the film creates a strong sense of collective resolve. Each woman speaks with her own presence, while also reinforcing a shared message around reproductive rights and personal freedoms.
At the same time, select archival footage of Tina Kotek appears throughout the piece. These moments connect the message to her real-world leadership and legislative record, grounding the words on screen in lived political action.
Delivering a Clear Campaign Message
Lightbox Filmworks led filming and post-production, shaping pacing, tone, and visual rhythm to strengthen emotional impact. In addition, the team produced multiple cutdowns designed for broadcast, digital, and paid media placements.
Ultimately, the final campaign assets delivered a focused message built around unity, urgency, and voter empowerment. Released during a critical moment in Oregon’s political landscape, the work reinforced the idea that what’s at stake is personal, and that women across the state are standing together.
This project is part of our broader Public Interest & Civic Impact work focused on civic voice, clarity, and human-centered political storytelling.
